Agathia is a small village of 200 inhabitants. It is located between Palekastro village and Chiona Beach. Its main feature is its old narrow streets and the traditional houses. Agathia has been a popular village for holiday homes for many years due to it's close proximity to the beaches, as a consequence properties rarely become available for sale in this village.
The village is well worth a visit. Enjoy a glass of raki or a cup of Greek coffee at Mrs. Giorgia's small, but warm and hospitable cafe, which is one of the last "real" traditional Cretan cafes remaining in the area.
Agathia is 19 km from Sitia, 25 km from Zakros and 1 from Palekastro. Agathia is 25 metres above sea level.
